What does CLP mean?

Classification, Labelling & Packaging

This is a Government Regulation that covers all hazardous substances and has been in place since 2009 (amended in 2015).   From the 1st January 2021 this now forms part of the GB CLP Regulation.

CLP applies to all products containing a hazardous substance, such as fragrance or essential oil. The information on each CLP label will include:

Warning pictograms and information.

Allergen information/ingredients.

Product identifier/fragrance name.

Supplier name, address/postcode, telephone number.

All PandaMelts products are CLP compliant and we are fully insured. You can find the CLP information for each scent in the CLP tab at the bottom of the site.

What does IFRA mean?

The International Fragrance Association

(IFRA) is the global representative body of the fragrance industry. It seeks to represent the collective interests of the industry and promote the safe use of fragrances.

IFRA is the official self-regulatory representative body of the fragrance industry worldwide. Its main purpose is to ensure the safety of fragrance materials through a dedicated science program. IFRA publishes a list of usage standards for fragrance materials, limiting or prohibiting the use of ingredients, based on the findings of the Research Institute of Fragrance Materials, which gathers data regarding the safety of fragrance materials.

What type of wax do you use?

We use 100% soy wax, which is eco friendly and also vegan.

I can see smoke coming from the wax pool, is this normal?

This is completely normal and what you are seeing isn’t actually smoke it is vapour from the fragrance. All it means is that there is a good scent throw.

How to clean your burner?

If your warmer has been on and your wax is liquid, take two cotton balls, set them in the warmer, let it absorb, and discard cotton balls into the trash can. This is perfect for the warmers without removable lids, plugins, and if you have too much going on in your mind to remember to change the wax. Then take a paper towel and wipe the little bit that is left.

If your wax warmer is not on and the wax has hardened, we think it is easier to remove it by turning the warmer back on so the wax at least loosens in the warmer and is easier to remove as a solid piece! Be sure to wipe it down with a paper towel.

Why is my product labelled with different name?

We wholesale some of our products that are named by the suppliers; however those are the same scents we use, so to avoid confusion we have renamed them.

Effects claimed

Some of the ingredients we use including but not limited to: Apricot oil, Almond oil and Shea Butter are well known to nourish and moisturise the skin while leaving it smooth and positively glowing, however we do not claim any effects of our products.

 Animal testing declaration

As per EU Directive 76/768/EEC and the EU Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009, Panda Melts hereby confirms that none of our finished products or ingredients have been tested on animals by us or upon our instruction.
